Poland switched to winter time overnight from Saturday to Sunday. The United States won’t set its clocks back until next week, so until Nov. 1 the time difference between Poland and the U.S. is one hour smaller than usual.
In Poland, clocks were set back on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 3:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. In the U.S., standard time begins on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 2:00 a.m., when clocks will be turned back to 1:00 a.m.
Until then, the difference between Poland and Chicago is 6 hours instead of the usual 7. New York and Florida are 5 hours behind instead of 6, Denver is 7 instead of 8, and California is 8 instead of 9. The exception is Arizona, which does not change its clocks. There, the difference with Poland is now 8 hours, and it will stay that way until spring.
It’s worth keeping in mind when scheduling calls with family in Poland, joining online meetings or following live broadcasts. Starting Nov. 1, everything will return to normal.
In the spring, the situation will repeat in reverse. The U.S. will move to daylight saving time on March 14, 2027, while Poland will do so on March 28. The European Union has been debating for years whether to end the clock change, but there is still no final decision.
