Runners in the TCS New York City Marathon will make their way through all five boroughs of New York City on Sunday, Nov. 1. Disruptions begin as early as Saturday.

The Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K will take place Saturday morning. From about 8 to 10–10:30 a.m., closures will include 42nd Street (westbound from Seventh Ave. to FDR Drive), Sixth Avenue between 42nd and 59th streets, and Central Park South. At 11 p.m. Saturday, the upper level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge will close in both directions.

The bridge’s lower level will also close Sunday starting at 7 a.m. Both levels will remain closed until about 4 p.m.

Main disruptions on Sunday:

  • Brooklyn – Fourth Avenue (from 94th St. to Flatbush Ave.) from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; other avenues along the route, including McGuinness Boulevard, from roughly 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Disruptions also affect the BQE (Brooklyn-Queens Expressway).
  • Queens – The Pulaski Bridge will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the lower level of the Queensboro Bridge from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Bronx – The Willis Avenue and Madison Avenue bridges will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Manhattan – Long closures on First Avenue, Fifth Avenue, Central Park West and Columbus Avenue; Central Park crossings at 65th and 79th streets will be closed until 9:30 p.m.

Parking restrictions are also in effect in Manhattan throughout the weekend. The NYPD cautions that closure times may change. Drivers should allow plenty of extra time for their trips and, ideally, switch to the subway.
