Polish Consulate to Take Passport Applications in Denver Thursday

Must read

Poles in Colorado and neighboring states can apply for a Polish passport this week without traveling to California. The Consulate General of Poland in Los Angeles is holding a consular session at the Polish Club in Denver on Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30.

Consuls will work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. The session will take place at The Polish Club of Denver, 3121 W. Alameda Ave. Only passport applications will be accepted during the visit; no other consular matters can be handled.

Applicants must register in advance through the e-konsulat.gov.pl portal, selecting the Denver session visit in the service type field. Appointment slots were made available Sept. 28. After booking, applicants must email the confirmation from the system and a copy of a valid ID to la.dyzury@msz.gov.pl.

First-time passport applicants must attach scans of documents: for a child, a Polish birth certificate; for an adult, the voivode’s decision confirming citizenship (a voivode is the government’s regional representative), a birth certificate and, if the marriage took place abroad, a Polish marriage certificate. Originals must be brought along. An application for a child also requires the IDs of both parents.

The fee can be paid only by money order or cashier’s check made out to the Consulate General of Poland in Los Angeles. Cash and personal checks will not be accepted. A photographer will be on site, but the consulate notes that applicants should bring a photo that meets passport requirements.
