Szczecin is preparing for All Saints’ Day. Starting Wednesday, Oct. 28, the Szczecin Roads and Public Transport Authority (ZDiTM) is launching the first additional runs to Central Cemetery, one of the largest necropolises in Europe.

Special tram line D10 (Gumieńce – Plac Rodła) will run every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 28–30 and on Nov. 2. Trams on line 10 and buses on lines 53 and 67 will also run more frequently. ZDiTM spokesman Krzysztof Ufland noted that although there are still a few days until Nov. 1, traffic around the cemetery is already growing. Further timetable changes will take effect on Saturday, Oct. 31.

On the holiday itself, starting at 6 a.m., Ku Słońcu Street between the Gierosa roundabout and the Pileckiego roundabout will be closed to regular traffic, as will Karola Miarki, Piękna and Santocka streets. The detour will run along Derdowskiego, 26 Kwietnia and Krzywoustego streets to Piastów Avenue. Normal traffic patterns are expected to return by 10 p.m. at the latest. Service that day will include tram line D8 (every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and the new bus line D69 (Ludowa – Południowa).

Drivers should also remember that cars can enter the grounds of Central Cemetery only through Thursday. Beginning Friday, because of the growing number of visitors, entry will be closed.
