In the days before All Saints' Day, many Polish parishes are holding saints' balls and processions as an alternative to Halloween parties. The events, aimed mainly at children and teens, include games, dancing and costume contests.
The run-up to All Saints' Day is boosting grave candle sales and production as well as seasonal hiring, a Personnel Service report says. Its authors estimate that a few days of selling outside cemeteries can earn more than a month at a salaried job.
