Czarzasty: Ukraine Is Shedding Blood Now, While Poland Helps With Money and Weapons

The threat is growing because Putin is a murderer and Trump is unpredictable, Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czarzasty said Saturday. He stressed that Poland will not forget the issues connected with Volhynia, but that it is Ukraine that is now shedding blood, while Poland helps it with money and weapons.

New Left leader and Marshal of the Sejm, Poland’s lower house of parliament, Włodzimierz Czarzasty addressed President Karol Nawrocki in his Saturday speech in Lublin.

– Mr. President, don’t tell us that you don’t see the threat, that the threat is not growing, because Putin is a murderer and Trump is unpredictable. Therefore you have no right to tell your nation, to lull your nation to sleep, that the threat is not growing. We must arm ourselves, we must prepare for this, but more and more drones are landing not far from us, and we have to remember that – the marshal said.

He stressed that the European Union is a good thing, and that if Poland leaves it, the only direction left to go is East. – And in the East there is Putin, who is a murderer – Czarzasty added.

In his view, President Trump is our friend, but he is also a leader of chaos. Trump must be spoken to, he noted, as a partner, not on our knees. – President Nawrocki says he has the best contact with Trump, so I have a proposal. If you are telling the truth, then help us, go and arrange for the United States to have a permanent base here – the Sejm marshal said, addressing Nawrocki.

Turning to Ukrainian issues, the leader of the Left stressed that “we will never forget the issues connected with Volhynia,” but that during the ongoing war it is Ukraine that is shedding blood, and Poland is helping it with money and weapons. – The more time Ukraine gives us, the more time we have to arm ourselves, train the Polish army and enter into alliances – Czarzasty stressed.

In his view, it is in Poland’s interest for Ukraine to be independent and free. – It is better to have debt and win the war. The times demand such a position – he said.

Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said that over the past two decades the internet has brought us a lot of joy, but also many risks, including hate and hatred. – It has brought us the risks of disinformation, behind which stand Russia and Putin, because they want to destabilize the Polish information space – he said.

He appealed to President Karol Nawrocki to sign the online safety bill, which “was supposed to give a sense that the Polish government would have a tool that would allow it to remove hateful, illegal, hate-filled content from the internet.” – The veto of this bill was a veto by President Nawrocki, who did not want to allow Poland to be safe online – Gawkowski said.

He also pointed out that Poland is the most heavily attacked European Union country in cyberspace and that “every day Putin and his friends want to harm Poles, to shut off our electricity, gas, water.”

New Left politicians met with voters in Lublin on Saturday during their autumn tour, “Lewica Dowozi” (“The Left Delivers”). The convention was devoted to Poland’s security.

The Left is continuing the tour it began in the summer under the “Lewica dowozi” banner. According to the announcement, once a month the politicians will visit two voivodeships (provinces) until the 2027 parliamentary elections. On Sunday they will meet with residents of Podkarpacie. (PAP)
