Kraków Mayor Łukasz Gibała proposed suspending the city's partnership with Lviv over the Lviv Regional Council's decision to declare 2027 the Year of the UPA. He said he would withdraw the draft resolution if Lviv's mayor condemns the decision.
A decision by Lviv Regional Council deputies to name 2027 the year of the UPA and Roman Shukhevych was an "unpleasant surprise" for Kyiv, a PAP source said. Consultations are under way to block it, while Poland banned the initiator from the Schengen Area.
