The Catholic Church marks the Solemnity of All Saints on Nov. 1, remembering the faithful who attained salvation and the universal call to holiness. In Poland, it is also the day families visit the graves of loved ones.
In the days before All Saints' Day, many Polish parishes are holding saints' balls and processions as an alternative to Halloween parties. The events, aimed mainly at children and teens, include games, dancing and costume contests.
