Democrats Win House, Closing In on Senate Control

Must read

American Democrats are winning the congressional elections. Although the vote count continues, it is already clear they will have a majority in the House of Representatives. They are also well on their way to gaining control of the Senate.

Polls have closed in most states on the East Coast and in the central United States. Partial results point to a clearer defeat for Donald Trump and the Republicans. Democrats needed to flip only three seats in the House of Representatives, and that has already happened. Only the scale of the victory is unknown, but the number of seats Republicans lose in the lower house of Congress could reach several dozen. To gain control of the Senate, Democrats need at least four seats previously held by Republicans. So far, they have taken two, in North Carolina and South Carolina. They are also leading in six more states, which bodes well for their chances of winning. The vote count continues.
