Katarzyna Kieli, the current head of the Polish branch of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and of TVN, will lead the Polish part of the Skydance group, the company’s leadership announced. Skydance was created after Paramount Skydance took over WBD. The transaction was finalized in early October.
Skydance executive Jean-Briac (JB) Perrette announced that Kieli would head the group’s Polish branch in an internal letter, which was published by Variety, among others.
“Given the exceptional scale, nature and scope of our leading television and digital businesses in this market, spanning entertainment, news, sports, digital media and production studios, Kasia will continue to manage the Polish branch as a more integrated media team,” Perrette said.
Kieli has worked for years in the Polish branch of Discovery, which has owned TVN since 2018. After the merger with WarnerMedia, the Warner Bros. Discovery group was formed.
In early October, Paramount Skydance finalized its takeover of WBD. The new company, Skydance, is one of the largest media groups in the world.
The new group includes two major film studios (Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros.), two global streaming platforms (Paramount+ and HBO Max), the CBS network, HBO channels, the news organizations CBS News and CNN, and Poland’s TVN. The company also holds sports broadcasting rights through CBS Sports and TNT Sports. (PAP)
