Arizona Voters: Tuesday Is Last Day to Mail Back Ballots

Must read

Tuesday, Oct. 27, is the last day Arizona voters should drop their completed mail-in ballots into a USPS mailbox, according to the Arizona Secretary of State’s office. The recommendation is meant to ensure ballots arrive on time.

Under state law, counties can count only those ballots that reach them by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. A ballot mailed later may simply not arrive in time, and the vote would be lost.

Voters who miss the mailing window can still return their ballots in person. Polling places, voter centers and official drop boxes in every county accept completed ballots through Election Day. Maps of locations in Maricopa and Pima counties are available on the websites of those counties’ election offices, and for the remaining counties on the Arizona.Vote website.

On the same site, voters can sign up for BallotTrax, a system that lets them track the status of their ballots. Early in-person voting is available through Friday, Oct. 30. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot passed on Oct. 23.
