Economists at PKO BP say high fuel prices are not curbing demand for other goods and services, and that high savings make sustained consumption possible. Retail sales rose 3.3% year over year in September 2026.
Budget revenue from the windfall tax on fuel companies will total about PLN 5.2 billion, the Finance Ministry told PAP. That is close to the cost of the first two editions of the "Ceny Paliwa Niżej" program.
