A ticket worth $7.4 million was sold at a gas station on Chicago’s South Side. The winning numbers came up in Monday’s Illinois Lotto drawing.
The winning ticket was purchased at a BP station at 6751 W. Archer Ave., west of Midway Airport. It matches all of the numbers drawn that day: 6, 12, 13, 14, 30 and 42. State lottery officials said the gas station will receive a $74,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
The Illinois Lottery said the $7.4 million prize is the third-largest Lotto jackpot this year. Earlier wins included a $10.25 million jackpot, with the ticket bought at a Chicago grocery store for the Aug. 1 drawing, and an $11.6 million jackpot, with that ticket sold in Bartlett for the Jan. 24 drawing.
Meanwhile, jackpots are growing in the two biggest U.S. lottery number games. Mega Millions is offering $463 million in today’s drawing. The Powerball drawing is tomorrow, with the jackpot grown to $760 million. Illinois residents also have a chance at $2.15 million in Lotto.
